Acting early: high-efficacy intervention across the MS continuum

 

This symposium will explore evolving approaches to early MS management, focusing on the importance of timely intervention of high-efficacy therapies in young people with MS or those with mild disease, and the gap between evidence and real-world practice. Faculty will consider how current understanding of MS and emerging data should inform treatment decisions early in the disease course, regardless of disease activity or patient profile.

 

Drawing on clinical and real-world evidence, the session will address key considerations including preservation of independence and quality of life, family planning and outcomes associated with early versus delayed intervention across diverse patient populations. An interactive, question-led format will support discussion of real-world clinical decision-making and evolving practice.

Treating All of MS: Unifying Strategies to Target Relapse and Progression in a Shifting Clinical Landscape

 

This program is planned, organized and hosted independently by Efficient CME and CME Outfitters. The program examines the evolving understanding of MS as a spectrum, utilizing the topographical model to highlight overlapping pathologies between relapsing and progressive phenotypes. It addresses the importance of early and persistent PIRA and the influence of the 2024 McDonald Criteria on a unified diagnosis.

 

Discussions include the role of B-cell therapies and the optimal combination of biomarkers like NfL and GFAP to monitor disease. Additionally, the symposium integrates the positioning of BTK inhibitors, such as fenebrutinib and tolebrutinib, within the treatment algorithm for both relapsing and progressive disease states.

Hit the target - IL-6 in rare neuroimmunological conditions

 

The IL-6 signaling pathway is well recognised as a central driver in rare CNS autoimmune conditions and has opened a new therapeutic chapter. This meeting will explore the multifaceted role of IL-6—a pleiotropic cytokine that not only fuels inflammation but also compromises the blood-brain barrier and promotes the survival of pathogenic plasmablasts through upstream mechanisms. As we look toward the future of rare disease management, we will evaluate the clinical value of IL-6 inhibition across a spectrum of disorders, including NMOSD, MOGAD, and Autoimmune Encephalitis.

 

The clinical expert will discuss how targeting this specific "cytokine hub" can reduce relapse risk, manage long term disability with an acceptable long term safety and tolerability profile and convenient administration.
